Northern Lights is one of the UK's leading collegiate a cappella groups and the current national champions. We have enjoyed an exceptional run of success in recent years, winning the Open A Cappella Competition in 2023, 2025 and 2026, as well as securing first place at the UK finals of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) for four consecutive years from 2023 to 2026. These achievements have made us seven-time national champions and, in 2026, we became the first group in history to reach the finals four years in a row.

Since 2023, Northern Lights has represented the UK at the ICCA international finals in New York City, performing on a Broadway stage alongside the very best in collegiate a cappella. In 2025 we finished third place globally, becoming the first ever mixed UK group to place at the international finals. In 2026, we achieved our highest result yet, placing second and receiving two additional awards for Outstanding Arrangement and Outstanding Choreography.

Our work extends beyond the competition stage. We have performed at prestigious venues such as the O2 and the Barbican and our annual shows at the Durham and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals are always a great success. Alongside performing live, we regularly release professionally produced music that can be found on both Spotify and Apple Music.
